The free Oakland University scenery add-on brings the Rochester, Michigan campus into Microsoft Flight Simulator with photogrammetry, enhanced night lighting, and populated parking lots. It replaces default autogen buildings and includes Meadow Brook Hall, the campus clock tower, the amphitheater, golf course, and sports facilities.
Why try the free Oakland University scenery?
The campus is a compact destination with a varied collection of landmarks. Meadow Brook Hall, the clock tower, the amphitheater, and the sports grounds each give you a different camera subject, while the broader campus layout connects them. As a free download, it is an easy way to add a locally recognizable sightseeing stop to a Southeast Michigan simulator session.
What changes on the campus?
The scenery replaces generic campus buildings with photogrammetry so that the layout and recognizable structures become the focus of a local flight. Meadow Brook Hall's red rooflines and grounds are visible in the screenshot above. The 151-foot campus clock tower provides another landmark to find as you move toward the main university buildings.
The coverage also includes Meadow Brook Amphitheater, set among trees, along with the campus golf course and sports facilities. This mix makes the add-on useful for a compact sightseeing session: you can move from the historic hall to academic buildings, outdoor venues, and athletic areas without planning a long cross-country flight.
A suggested campus tour
Begin in daylight above Meadow Brook Hall, then use the clock tower to orient yourself toward the university. Follow with a look at the amphitheater and sports facilities. The drone camera is particularly useful here because it lets you pause, compare the buildings with their surroundings, and explore at your own pace.
For a second visit, use the same broad campus viewpoint after dark. The night screenshot shows roads, parking areas, and sports facilities defined by lighting, with darker wooded areas between them. Parking lots populated with cars are also part of the scenery improvements.
