Midtown Detroit Scenery for MSFS: Wayne State, Hospitals and Cultural Landmarks

Midtown Detroit scenery for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 adds more than 70 handcrafted buildings to Detroit's cultural, university, and medical districts. Its focus is the collection of campuses, hospitals, and civic landmarks beyond the downtown skyline, with night lighting, PBR materials, and ground texture improvements.

Why Midtown deserves its own scenery tour

Midtown is a strong choice when the places you want to recognize are campuses, museums, and hospitals. The individually modeled building complexes give the district its local character: a broad civic facade, a distinctive campus roofline, or the footprint of a familiar medical center. That makes this pack especially rewarding for Detroit-area sightseeing and close camera exploration beyond the downtown towers.

Which Detroit landmarks are included?

The pack brings together several different kinds of city scenery. Wayne State University's academic buildings form a campus area to explore. The Detroit Institute of Arts and Detroit Public Library provide recognizable cultural landmarks. Medical coverage includes Detroit Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Michigan, Harper University Hospital, and Henry Ford Hospital.

These locations give a sightseeing flight several distinct subjects without relying on a single skyscraper. From above, look for the relationships between the larger building complexes, open spaces, and smaller surrounding blocks. The daytime screenshots show changes in building height, footprint, roof shape, and facade treatment across the district.

Midtown versus the Detroit and Windsor city pack

Choose Midtown if your main interests are the university, museums, library, or hospitals. The separate Detroit and Windsor city pack covers the downtown and cross-river skyline with its own collection of more than 200 handcrafted buildings, monuments, stadiums, and waterfront details.

The two listings address different parts of a larger Detroit-area tour. Midtown's building count describes this product; it does not mean that the additional downtown and Windsor scenery is included in the same purchase. For farther-out city landmarks in Southfield, Troy, Pontiac, and Mount Clemens, see the separate Southeast Michigan Cities listing.

Ideas for exploring Midtown in the simulator

For an initial daylight tour, make the Detroit Institute of Arts and Public Library your reference points, then explore the Wayne State campus and medical buildings. A wider camera view helps show how the low-rise cultural buildings, taller medical blocks, and surrounding streets fit together. Use the simulator's drone camera when you want to pause over a specific building or compare several rooflines.

Return to the same area after dark to see a different set of details. The nighttime image below shows illuminated windows and brighter pools of light around individual buildings and parking areas. Comparing the same view in daylight and darkness is a simple way to appreciate both the modeling and lighting work.
